Detecting gum disease early to
avoid tooth loss
The fact that more teeth are lost to gum disease than tooth decay is now widely known. Vigilance is important to ensure that simple inflammation of the gums does not lead to more serious problems.
Here at one80dental, our resident dental hygienist Julie Rosse plays an important role in preventing gum disease. Julie carries out initial and comprehensive assessments of her patients’ teeth and gums to evaluate periodontal health and determine how to address any potential problems. She then undertakes the routine removal of tartar from the teeth and under the gums.
Julie has a specific knowledge of dental implants and their management. She can provide a suitable cleaning regime and instruments for your home care.
Specialist referrals for management of periodontal disease are seen by Mark Barber and/or Nigel Rosenbaum to establish an appropriate strategy for treatment.
