Mark is an Honorary Consultant/Senior Clinical Teacher in Restorative Dentistry at the School of Clinical Dentistry and The Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in Sheffield. He is a GDC registered Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Periodontology.

He qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2002, and following a year in dental practice undertook a number of junior hospital posts in maxillofacial surgery, community dentistry and restorative dentistry. He then become a Clinical Teacher and Staff Grade in Endodontics following which he began his Registrar position in Restorative Dentistry, prior to being appointed Honorary Consultant in 2014.

Mark has completed an MPhil in Pathophysiology of the Dental Pulp and has a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and is a Member of the Higher Education Academy.

Mark’s roles at the School of Clinical Dentistry include treatment planning and treating patients with complex Restorative problems, and the training of undergraduate and postgraduate dental students. Mark is the lead for endodontic teaching of both the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Mark also runs training courses for qualified dentists and has presented at a number of conferences, winning a prize at the British Endodontic Society Conference in 2013.

Mark has a friendly and relaxed manner with patients and is happy to see patients with a range of complex Restorative problems (including Endodontics, Prosthodontic, Periodontology and dental implants).

Mark grew up in the Peak District, near Bakewell, and now lives in Sheffield. He has two young children who keep him busy when he’s not at work!
