Cosmetic Fixed Braces

Precise teeth straightening solutions

Cosmetic fixed braces can provide you with a more aesthetically appealing option whilst at the same time precisely positioning your teeth; many of our adult patients find them an appealing alternative to the prospect of traditional metal braces.

If you are self-conscious of wearing braces, but the irregularities of your teeth are unlikely to be resolved with clear aligners, then ceramic braces could be a viable option for you. They are the same size and shape as metal braces and are similarly fitted to the front of your teeth.  Rather than using stainless steel, the brackets are made using a hard ceramic material that blend in with your tooth colour.

At one80 Dental our Specialist in Orthodontics, Tania Murphy is an experienced practitioner in the use of ceramic fixed braces and at one80 Dental she offers Radiance Plus™ by American Orthodontics as a solution.

What is Radiance Plus™?
The Radiance Plus brace is one of the strongest ceramic brace systems available as each bracket is made from a single clear sapphire crystal. In nature, sapphire is one of the strongest materials second only to diamond, this property makes them impressively hard wearing and high performing. The Radiance ceramic brackets are resistant to staining, though you still need to take good care of them and are polished smooth for your comfort and cleaning ease.

Radiance braces usually need adjusting every six – eight weeks and typically treatment duration can range between six to eighteen months, depending on your individual case.

Quick Orthodontic FAQs

You can continue to eat a normal healthy diet. There are a few “forbidden foods” but these will be discussed further with you at you assessment appointment.

They are designed for easy removal at the end of your treatment. Providing you have cared for your braces as directed during your orthodontic treatment then no marks (demineralisation) will be left on your teeth once the brace is removed.

After your teeth have been straightened you will need to wear a retainer to hold them in their new position. For best long-term results we recommend that your retainer is worn regularly at night as teeth can continue to move throughout your life.
