Fergus Machin

Fergus is passionate and committed to helping patients improve their periodontal health. He prides himself on using both a patient centred approach and evidence-based dentistry to provide the best possible care for his patients.

Fergus graduated from the University of Leeds in 2014. He worked as a general practitioner for 5 years until deciding to pursue a special interest in periodontics. In 2019 he began a 3-year Masters degree in Clinical Periodontology at UCLan. There he gained experience of caring for patients with complex gum disease, and he graduated with a distinction in 2022.

Fergus frequently attends courses across Europe to keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of periodontology and he offers a range of treatment including surgical and non-surgical therapies.

In 2016, he completed the post-graduate examinations to become a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery. Fergus also has a keen interest in teaching and frequently lectures on several subjects. He has completed a PGCert in Post-graduate Education from the University of Sheffield and has mentored young dentists through the Foundation Dentist scheme.
