Two of our staff have really let their hair down for charity.
Jane Davidson, Business Development Manager (pictured right), and Dental Nurse Catherine Ashley have donated nearly two feet of their hair to help children with cancer.
The big-hearted duo have also raised over £600 in sponsorship so far for the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs free of charge to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
Jane, who is also receptionist at one80dental, said: “We heard about the Little Princess Trust from a patient and just thought it was such a fantastic way of helping these brave children going through chemotherapy and other treatments.
“Family, friends and patients here at one80dental have been so supportive. It’s just been a very positive experience – although a little emotional when our hair was finally cut.”
After growing her hair for almost a year, Jane was able to donate eight inches and Catherine gave a foot-long plait. They have raised £630 of their £900 target which will enable Little Princess to have three wigs made.
The Little Princess Trust has helped thousands of boys and girls, working with suppliers of real hair wigs throughout the UK and Ireland. The charity has recently extended its mission to support research into the causes of childhood cancers and into minimising the effects of chemotherapy in children.
